About caitlin {a.k.a. cat}
Caitlin Joy is a fashion, music and film writer, poet and student studying Cinema Studies, Women and Gender Studies and Creative Expression and Society at the University of Toronto in Toronto, Canada. Under her name, or with one of her few nom de plumes, she explores the 'artificial' realms of culture - fashion, music, film, art, media and travel, from the critical perspective of 'substantial' academic study. Beautiful subjects, are infinitely more complex than conventional, patriarchal, journalism would mislead one to believe and for far too long, the narrative has dichotomized frilly femininity, and razor-sharp analysis. Women and girls who unabashedly participate in girliness, are equally capable of complex, intellectual thought - what, like its hard?
